Story of Lyra
Lyra was founded in July 1991 by Hoskuldur Hoskuldsson and Hoskuldur Thordarsson. The purpose was to offer professional and specialized service to laboratories that perform chemical and blood sample analysis within the healthcare sector.
The operation started slow in the beginning with only one employee. In the early years of the operation, emphasis was placed on the introduction of a new generation of blood glucose meters intended for individuals with diabetes, as well as marketing the company and its foreign partners into the Iceland research healthcare market. The blood glucose meters made it possible for individuals to monitor their blood sugar levels at any time, which was a big change for diabetics.
Today Höskuldur Höskuldsson is the sole owner and managing director. Lyra’s board consists of Höskuldur Höskuldsson, Höskuldur Þórðarsson and Aðalheiður Ríkarðsdóttir. The company has eight employees today that work closely together. The companies morale is good with a chosen person in each position with the right knowledge and specialized education to offer the best possible service and meet the customer requirements.
Professionalism is the hallmark of the company and to ensure safe and responsible service, Lyra is a ISO certified company.
